What is EMIBEN?EMIBEN is an Ecuadorian importer of weapons, tactical equipment and unmanned aerial systems (UAS), authorized by the Armed Forces Joint Command and the authorized representative of Typhoon Defence Industries in Ecuador.
Do you sell firearms online? No. EMIBEN does not sell firearms or ammunition online. Every purchase requires permit verification and is formalized in writing.
Where are you located? We are based in Quito, Ecuador, and serve clients in all 24 provinces of the country.
How do I request a quote?Fill out the contact form on this site or message us on WhatsApp at +593 98 542 4760 with the equipment, quantity and intended use.
When will firearm imports reopen? There is no date yet. Ministerial Agreement No. 089 of the Ministry of National Defense, dated March 2, 2026, prohibits importing firearms for civilian and commercial use until a new administrative act provides otherwise. Register your interest and we will let you know as soon as imports are enabled.
Who can acquire firearms right now?The prohibition does not apply to imports authorized for the exclusive use of the Armed Forces, the National Police and complementary state security entities, subject to approval of a technical report justifying operational need.
What permits do I need to buy a firearm? You need a valid permit issued by the competent authority (Armed Forces Joint Command) for the type of use. We guide you through the process.
Why are the Sierra 12 and submachine guns only for institutions? They are military and police weapons. They can only go to the Armed Forces, the National Police and authorized entities.
Can I register my interest even though imports are prohibited?Yes. Fill out the contact form with the equipment you are interested in and we will let you know when imports are enabled again.
What is an RFI?RFI stands for Request for Information. It is a questionnaire in which your organization describes its needs: mission, territory, operating conditions and required capabilities.
What is the RFI used for?It lets the manufacturer evaluate your requirements and propose the UAS configuration that best fits your operation: aircraft type, endurance, sensors, range and training.
Why do we need an RFI for a drone?Every mission is different. A UAS for border surveillance is not the same as one for risk management or land surveys. The RFI avoids generic offers and lets us present the right option from the start.
Does filling out the RFI commit me to buy?No. The RFI is not a contract. It expresses real interest in the equipment and lets us schedule an exploratory meeting to present the best option.
Who should fill out the RFI?The person in charge of the area that will use the equipment in your organization. Whoever fills it out is responsible for its content and signs it.
What happens to my RFI information? It is used only to evaluate your requirement and is shared with the manufacturer under a confidentiality agreement. The response reaches you through EMIBEN.
Can municipalities request UAS?Yes. Local governments can request UAS for public safety, risk management, cadastre, public works and the environment.
What does my organization gain by filling out the RFI?You receive a proposal tailored to your mission instead of a generic offer. You avoid paying for capabilities you don't need, compare options on technical grounds and shorten the procurement process, because the manufacturer works from your real requirements from the start.
What information should I have ready to fill out the RFI?The mission the UAS will perform, the area or territory to cover, operating conditions (altitude, weather, time of day), the flight time and range you need, the type of camera or sensors, and how many people will operate it.
Do you have stock available?Availability depends on the product, color and size. Request a quote and we will confirm the delivery time.
What does tactical equipment include?Vests and plate carriers, ballistic helmets, plates and panels, belts, magazine pouches, utility pouches, bags and backpacks.
Do I need a permit to buy ballistic protection? Some ballistic protection equipment may require authorization depending on its type and level. We guide you case by case before the purchase.
Can I request equipment that isn't listed?Yes. Tell us what you need in the contact form and we will source the product with our manufacturers.
What training services do you offer?Permit and import advisory, training on equipment use and maintenance, technical presentations and guidance on UAS operation.
Is training included with the purchase? It is defined in each offer based on the equipment and quantity. Ask us when you request your quote.
Where does training take place? At our Quito offices or at a location agreed with your organization.
Do you help with permit filings?Yes. We advise you on the requirements and filings with the competent authority.
Can municipalities buy firearms? No. The Local Governments line does not include firearms. It brings together tactical equipment for municipal enforcement staff and unmanned aerial systems.
How does a municipality start a UAS request?By filling out our RFI with the canton's needs. With that information we present the right configuration.
